Ms. Otte: All About Me

I am very excited to be your child's Kindergarten teacher this year!  This is my 9th year teaching at Hynes Elementary and my 19th year as an educator.  I absolutely love teaching Kindergarten and learning with my students.  I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Elementary Education and a specialization in English as a Second Language.  I completed my Master's degree in  Linguistics from Northeastern Illinois University.  I grew up in northeastern Iowa, lived and worked overseas as a teacher for 4 years, and I now live in Morton Grove with my husband and our two daughters.  I love biking, running, reading, being active in the community, exploring Chicago and traveling as much as I can.  

To me, helping each child learn and grow in a safe, happy and enriching environment is most important.
